Altenew Academy ALL ABOUT LAYERING ‘Clean and Simple Boutique Cards’

Hello.  It’s been a while.  I’ve been busy going back to college to study digital design.  What fun!  But my love of papercrafting remains strong.  So hey!  Let’s make a card.

This card uses techniques I learned in Altenew Academy's Clean And Simple Boutique Cards Class.

SUPPLY LIST:

Red Cardstock

Gold Mirror Card

Neenah Classic White Cardstock

Versafine Onyx Black Ink

Clear Embossing Powder

Any Stamp and Die Set, I used Fun Stampers Journey “Herald Angels”. But it’s old and hard to find.

Decorative background die.  I picked one I liked from my stash.

Start by making and A2 size card base out of the red cardstock.  You do this by cutting an 8.5 x 11 sheet of paper in half along the long side.  When you fold those pieces in half you end up with 2 card bases that are 4.25 x 5.5.  Now die cut the decorative background die and glue it to the card base you made.

So far, so good.  Next stamp your image on a piece of the white cardstock and while you’re stamping add your sentiment.  Stamp them with Versamark ink, cover them with embossing powder, (shaking off the excess)  and emboss them with a heat gun..  (Hint:  use antistatic powder on your white cardstock before you stamp and add embossing powder.  This will insure goof proof results).

Die cut the stamped image but don’t add color.  If you happen to have the ‘Herald Angels” stamp you may notice that I ended up fussy cutting it out because I didn’t like the amount of white the die left around the image.

I added pop dots to make the image and the sentiment stand out against the decorative background.

Peel off the stickers and you’re ready to add them to your card.  Inside just add a strip of white paper to include a personal note.  And you are good to go!

Thanks for crafting with me!
