Hello and thanks for stopping by.
Here's today's card... but to be honest, it's not my favorite. Although, I did learn a few tips that will come in handy in future cards.
For this technique, the BIG sentiment takes center stage. The Black background makes everything stand out.
SUPPLY LIST:
- Bellaroma Hybrid Tea Rose Layering Stamp and Die Set
- Inks: Jet Black, Rouge, Crimson and Velvet from the "Red Sunset" Fresh Dye Ink Set; also Bamboo and Parrot
- A Large Sentiment: I used Hello by Picket Fence Stamps
- A2 Card Base, Red A2 Layer Panel and a Black cardstock panel cut to 4" x 5.25"
Stamp the outline of the Rose and the Leaves with Jet Black ink. Color the First layer of the Rose in Rouge. The second layer gets Crimson and finally, Velvet. The leaves are colored with bamboo and the detail stamp gets Parrot. Because the die cut leaves a white border, I colored the outer edge with a black pen to help it blend into the black background.
I die cut the BIG word out of the same red as the matte layer. I cut two more copies, stacked and glued them together. I also cut out a Black version of the word and glued it to the back slightly askew to create a shadow. The multiple layers allow for a no fuss pop up. Glue the red layer to the card base. Next center and glue the black layer. Arrange the flowers and leaves and finally that perfectly popped up sentiment.
I think I may try this with a different flower. Thanks again for visiting Ink Spot Blog. See you next time
