Hi there! It's me again... with more fun with the Altenew Academy Layering classes! In lesson four we learn another great tip to make sentiments more scintillating.
This was an idea I'd never tried. I love how that leaf at the top appears to be waving... like it fell off a tree and is blowing in the wind. And that birthday greeting is a real stand out!
Supply List:
- Crown Bloom Layering stamp set by Altenew
- Altenew Inks: Citrus Burst, Fresh Lemon, Maple Yellow from the Pocketful of Sunshine set, Firefly and Green Field
- A2 Card Base, A2 Silver Glitter Cardstock layer and Black cardstock layer cut to 4" x 5.25"
- Silver Glitter Washi Tape
- Sentiment Die. I used "Happy Birthday" from my stash
The outline of the leaf gets stamped in Jet Black. The fill in layer gets stamped with Firefly. Stamp the detail layer with Green Field.
I didn't have a die so I fussy cut the flower and three leaves out. It was pretty easy to fussy cut and although some people hate to do it... I actually find fussy cutting therapeutic.
Now comes the fun part. I grabbed a piece of yellow cardstock and and applied a line of the glitter washi tape across it. I then laid my "Happy Birthday" die so that most of the happy landed on the yellow and most of Birthday ended up on the washi tape. I ran it through the die cut machine and assembled the card.
As you can see, I layered the base card with silver glitter cardstock and black cardstock and added my flower, leaves and the fancy Happy Birthday. What a difference that Washi tape makes on the sentiment.
Until next time....
